The hour-long programme, produced by Beach House Pictures and narrated by David Attenborough, started the evening with nominations in four categories. It beat strong opposition to win one of the most coveted awards of the night, Best Documentary (one-off/special).
The programme features the wildlife in and around the islands off Singapore, both topside and underwater. I was involved in a three-week underwater shoot, and managed to capture sequences of a seahorse; the life attracted to an offshore fish farm; and a pair of pistol shrimps, a yellow watchman goby, and a cuttlefish. Some of this material can be seen in my showreel.
The programme was produced and directed by Jane Adcroft, who was Highly Commended in the Best Direction (Non-Fiction) award category on the night. Thank you to Series Producer Chiara Bellati who brought me onto the project. It was a pleasure working with such a great team.
Wild City - Islands is due to broadcast in the UK on Sky TV in 2017, watch this space for confirmation.
